Smiles all around as Pocklington move up

Pocklington went into their final league encounter of the 2024/25 season knowing that a bonus point win against Wensleydale at Percy Road would see them promoted to North East 2.
A large crowd assembled in the sunshine to cheer the boys on and they didn’t disappoint, in total they ran in 8 tries, five of which were converted, to complete a 50 points to nil victory against a very combative Wensleydale side.
With the best defensive record in Counties One Yorkshire this season, Pocklington won 20 of the 22 league games, only losing to champions North Ribblesdale both home and away, and amassing 97 out of a possible 110 league points. In any other season that would be enough to win the league but as it was, we were promoted as the best second placed side from all level seven leagues in England. A hugely successful season which will lead to the renewal of some old rivalries in 25/26 against the likes of Malton & Norton, Selby and Scarborough.
A big thank you to everyone who has supported the club this season and especially the hundreds who attended on Saturday to share in our success, we truly appreciate it.
